Gatik brings in $200M to continue expanding autonomous trucking operations

Gatik AI Inc. raised $200 million in Series D funding, the Mountain View, Calif.-based autonomous trucking company announced on August 26, per The Robot Report. The company said it will use the capital to accelerate driverless commercial freight operations across Fortune 50 retail, consumer packaged goods, and grocery supply chains.

Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT) led the round, with Millennium Management, ARK Invest, and Intact Private Capital also participating, according to The Robot Report. Byron Knight, president of Koch Disruptive Technologies, said in a statement that the company sees autonomy "moving beyond a promising technology into real-world commercial operations."

Gatik builds AI-first autonomous vehicle technology designed for use across both highways and surface streets, with trucks that operate on dynamic routes connecting distribution centers and retail stores. The company serves customers including PepsiCo, Kroger, Tyson Foods, and Georgia-Pacific. It reported more than $600 million in contracted revenue, 85,000 fully driverless orders completed, and a 99% on-time delivery rate across its operations, per The Robot Report.

In June, Gatik expanded a multi-year strategic partnership with PepsiCo, building on a first deployment in 2022. Current PepsiCo operations span Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas, focused on regional transportation networks where Gatik moves products daily between sites. Co-founder and CEO Gautam Narang said in a statement that the company has built "real revenue, deep customer demand, and AI-driven autonomous technology proven every day in live supply chains."

The funding is directed at scaling the company's core model of high-frequency regional routes — short, time-sensitive, operationally complex runs that Gatik describes as essential to keeping retail shelves stocked as consumer expectations shift toward faster replenishment. Gatik currently operates dozens of driverless trucks across North America and said it plans to expand to thousands in the years ahead, per The Robot Report.
