Oro raises $3 million to scale AI-powered financial execution platform
UAE-based Oro closed a $3M strategic round co-led by MH Ventures and Mapleblock Capital, bringing total funding to $4M as it targets 10M active users.
Oro, a UAE-based financial AI platform, raised $3 million in a strategic funding round, per Wamda. The round brings the company's cumulative funding to $4 million.
The round was co-led by MH Ventures and Mapleblock Capital, with participation from M2M Capital, Archer Capital, and X21 Digital, plus follow-on strategic backing from Disrupt.com and ZIGLabs. Keira Nesdale, Portfolio Manager at MH Ventures, said in a statement that Oro's ability to "abstract away backend friction while maintaining rigorous, policy-guarded non-custodial security" positions the company to lead what she called the agentic finance transition. Vijay Garg, Managing Partner at Mapleblock Capital, cited the company's organic user growth across difficult market conditions as a key factor in the investment decision.
Founded in 2024 by Varun Choudhary, Oro converts natural-language text prompts into multi-step transaction routes across decentralised finance (DeFi) protocols. The platform operates on a non-custodial, user-signed model — meaning it never takes control of user funds. According to Wamda, Oro has onboarded more than 350,000 active users and supports over 80 languages. The platform has live mainnet integrations with protocols including Morpho, Kamino, Lido, Aave, Uniswap, and Raydium.
The company has accumulated notable traction through partnerships. An educational campaign backed by Amazon Web Services drew over 250,000 verified user completions, while a separate initiative with Ondo Finance generated over 50,000 verified completions within its first 24 hours, per the same source. Oro's proprietary Shield Engine underpins the natural-language execution stack at the core of its product.
The $3 million will be deployed across four areas: advancing AI and agentic R&D, scaling global marketing and user acquisition, building regulatory and compliance frameworks around autonomous custody, and expanding engineering and business development teams to accelerate enterprise B2B integrations, according to Wamda. CEO Varun Choudhary said in a statement: "This funding round proves that real, sustainable product-market fit backed by hundreds of thousands of active users will always attract top-tier institutional capital."
Over the next 6 to 12 months, Oro is targeting 10 million active users. The company plans to ship native iOS and Android mobile applications, broaden its protocol integrations, and position itself as a primary intent-routing layer for third-party platforms on both B2B and B2C tracks. It is also finalising appointments for new advisory board members described as AI and DeFi veterans, though no names were disclosed.
