Kedaara Capital invests $200M in Tynor Orthotics
Kedaara Capital has put $200M into Mohali-based Tynor Orthotics, backing the orthopaedic products maker's push into global markets.
Kedaara Capital has invested $200 million in Tynor Orthotics Private Limited, a Mohali-based maker of orthopaedic supports, mobility aids, and rehabilitation products, per YourStory. The stake size was not disclosed.
According to YourStory, Kedaara will work alongside Tynor's promoters PJ Singh and AJ Singh, its professional management team, and long-standing strategic partner Thuasne to build what they describe as an "ortho-focused wellness platform." The partnership is focused on expanding Tynor's presence across India and international markets while continuing to invest in manufacturing capabilities.
Founded in 1993, Tynor sells its products through 300,000 retail outlets and 8,000 hospitals across 60 countries, and operates three manufacturing facilities spanning 6.5 lakh square feet, per YourStory. Thuasne, an international family-owned healthcare group specialising in orthopaedics and medical compression, has been a strategic partner of Tynor since 2010.
Kedaara currently manages over $6 billion across sectors including healthcare and pharma, financial services, consumer, and technology services, according to YourStory. Sunish Sharma, Founder and Managing Partner of Kedaara Capital, said in a statement, "India's medical devices sector is among the fastest-growing in the world, and Tynor represents a rare opportunity to partner with a clear category leader in orthopaedic supports and rehabilitation."
Promoters PJ Singh and AJ Singh framed the deal in terms of global ambition, saying in a statement that Tynor aims to "become the leader of global south and an indispensable supply chain partner for Global north." Elizabeth Ducottet, Chairman of the Thuasne Group, noted the partnership with Tynor stretches back more than fifteen years, adding that the company has "developed into an outstanding company and a recognised leader in India." The investment positions Tynor to deepen its manufacturing base and accelerate expansion into both established and emerging international markets.
