UAE’s Stellaria secures $6.8 million to scale geospatial AI platform
UAE-based Stellaria raised a $6.8M seed round from angel investors at a $114.4M valuation to scale its AI-powered geospatial intelligence platform.
Stellaria, a UAE-based AI and geospatial intelligence startup formerly known as Farmin, raised $6.8 million (AED 25 million) in a seed round from a group of angel investors, per Wamda. The round values the company at $114.4 million (AED 420 million).
The seed financing was backed entirely by angel investors, with no institutional backers named. Proceeds will go toward further developing Stellaria's AI and geospatial technologies, expanding its technical team, and scaling deployments across the UAE and international markets, according to Wamda.
Stellaria builds what it describes as an AI operating system for geospatial intelligence — a unified platform that ingests satellite imagery and other geospatial data and converts it into actionable intelligence. Its capabilities span AI-powered satellite imagery analytics, super-resolution, automated target recognition, maritime and port intelligence, satellite-derived bathymetry, and environmental monitoring, all delivered through its proprietary Stella platform. The company's verticals include government, defence, maritime and ports, infrastructure, and environmental monitoring.
The company was founded by Dr. Ali AlHammadi, who serves as CEO. It is an alumnus of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund's Innovation Accelerator Programme, through which it received mentorship and strategic guidance. Stellaria previously operated under the name Farmin before rebranding, though Wamda does not specify when the rebrand occurred or detail any prior funding rounds.
"We have grown from a UAE startup into a company building an AI operating system for geospatial intelligence, bringing together satellite data, AI and advanced analytics within a unified platform," AlHammadi said in a statement cited by Wamda. "Our ambition is to build globally relevant space and AI technology from the UAE and contribute to the country's growing position as a hub for advanced innovation."
With the new capital, Stellaria plans to attract specialised talent, strengthen its UAE-developed technology base, and push into new international markets, per Wamda. No specific markets or expansion timelines were disclosed.
